Banko Dhadhato is a central cooperative that collects coffee grown by family farms around the village of the same name in Yirgacheffe, Southern Ethiopia. 177 families contribute to the cooperative, with farms that are small in size and produce small lots of coffee. The cooperative collects, sorts, and grades the coffees, producing a selection of coffees that reflects the signature taste profiles of this local area. Recently the Banko Dhadhato cooperative joined the larger Yirgacheffe Coffee Farmer’s Cooperative Union, which will allow a more stable market for their coffee, opening up more and more opportunities for people to enjoy the rich history and taste of this region.

Coffees are sorted and graded based off of several quality factors, and sold as different quality lots. This is one of the highest quality grades, which usually means the cherries were selected at the most optimal ripeness.
